Art's black & white photography

All the images in this section were shot on black and white film emulsions. They appear here, as RGB images, color-balanced to emulate the selenium, sepia, and blue (gold) toning effects used with my silver prints. Some of these, particularly the rodeo and NY City images, are among my earliest photos.

In reviewing my black and white work, I have revisited the sense of discovery that made photography such a passion. Finding unexpected (or even unnoticed) elements in a photograph invites one to consider how much we barely see of our daily lives. Reviewing my early photography has also opened a door to the past and has led me to ponder how I have changed and how our world has changed.
